One Word: Grateful

Instead of a resolution, one word to focus on and guide the year. This year I'd like to change my attitude to one of gratefulness.

Appreciative of benefits received.

I have received many benefits in my life. It's time to stop complaining and start thinking about just how lucky I am. Sure, things aren't always unicorns and rainbows, but I want to make a promise to myself that before I complain about something, I'll remember a word of thanks, a thought of gratefulness for the things that have led me to where I am.

For example--I always complain about cleaning. I absolutely hate to clean. But, before I bitch about having to clean the bathroom, again, I'll think about how lucky I am to have a bathroom, a nice house in a safe area, running water, and so on and so on. My hope is that this moment of gratefulness will help me balance the good with the bad.

Do you have a word? A resolution? A hope for the New Year?
